Kennedy A. White, JD is a Director in the Corporate Advisory & Valuation Services practice of GA Group Advisory Services.

Kennedy is a trusted expert in advising manufacturing clients across a wide range of industries on utility sales tax matters. He has performed utility studies across the country, represented clients before the state on retrieving refunds of utility sales tax, worked hand in hand with state auditors to resolve disputes, and ultimately helped clients achieve millions in sales tax refunds and future savings.

State auditors often take note of Kennedy's expertise, and are continually impressed by his work because of the accurate documentation of exempt utility usage, proper classifications of equipment, organized and easy-to-understand reports, and skilled interpretations of utility tax exemption statutes. Through his long history in the utility tax consulting industry, Kennedy has developed relationships with state agencies and became familiar with all nuances of the utility tax exemption from state to state.

Prior to joining GA Group, Kennedy was the owner and lead utility tax advisor for the nationally respected sales tax consultancy, SmartSave. His clientele encompassed a wide range of manufacturing industries, including metals, paper and packaging, food and beverage, ceramics, chemicals, plastics, and textiles. Kennedy's focus was helping clients assess opportunities and capitalize on tax savings through utility tax exemption statutes.

Kennedy earned his Juris Doctor with certificates in Tax Law and Business & Transactional Law from Washburn University School of Law. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Entrepreneurship & Innovation from Washburn University.

Kennedy is a practicing attorney with a license to practice law in Kansas and a member of the Kansas Bar Association.
