Joseph Aber is a Director with experience helping organizations manage their risk and resilience function with a specialization in business continuity planning and implementation. He has over 30 years of experience in risk analyses, program development and operations leadership with major insurance carriers, including Berkshire-Hathaway and Progressive. His area of focus includes corporate liability arising from the actions of directors and officers. He has worked with the boards of directors of publicly traded companies to implement best practices in litigation risk mitigation. Joe has also served as an operations leader and program developer at Progressive Corporation and W. R. Berkley where he developed and launched new specialty operations, including planning for program resilience.

As Assistant Vice President at W. R. Berkley, Joe worked with senior leadership to create a global business resilience program, which ultimately included the management of over 350 plans for 60 operating units worldwide. Joe established the governance structure for the business continuity and emergency response function, with ultimate responsibility for maintenance, testing, and training of all BCPs. This work included the implementation of a web-based platform for program management and the execution of 120 tabletop exercises

Joe has his MBA from Wright State University and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Management at Notre Dame College.
